AI Books & Learning Materials

AI learning materials to understand, practise and verify.

SITECH builds books, handbooks and practical guides that help readers use AI with a purpose — understanding what AI can and cannot do, practising on real situations, and verifying results instead of trusting promises.

The problem

Knowing how to use AI is not the same as understanding AI

Many people use AI every day without understanding how it works — and that is where risk begins.

An employee pastes customer data into a public chatbot because no one told them not to. A manager approves AI-drafted text without checking it, because they do not know AI can invent details that sound highly convincing. A student copies an AI answer without verifying it, because no one taught them how to verify. An organisation buys an AI tool but its team does not know how to use it safely — and the gap is not in the tool, but in understanding, judgement and verification habits.

SITECH learning materials are written for exactly that gap: they do not teach "what AI is" in general terms, but teach readers to use AI correctly in their own work — understanding its limits, practising with a purpose, and verifying before trusting.

What the materials cover

Written for a specific reader, not written generically

Each set of learning materials is designed by audience, target outcome and security requirements — there is no single book for everyone.

  • Understanding AI from the ground up, in plain language — what large language models do, why AI can be wrong, and why the same question can produce different answers.
  • Practising on real situations — exercises based on readers' real work: drafting, searching, summarising, checking — not simulated exercises far removed from reality.
  • Verifying results — how to cross-check sources, recognise signs that AI has invented details, and know when a human must decide.
  • Using AI safely with data — which data must not be entered into public tools, how to work with sensitive data, and your own privacy and your organisation's privacy.
  • Designed by audience — leaders, office staff, teachers and students, technical teams: each group has its own materials, at its own depth.
  • Books, handbooks and practical guides — in print and digital formats, ready to use in everyday work.

International references

Learning materials designed to recognised standards

SITECH references the international standards and frameworks below when designing learning materials — so the content follows widely recognised AI governance practice rather than isolated opinions. The standards are referenced to design ways of working; SITECH does not claim to be certified to these standards.

UNESCO — Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (2021). Among the core principles of the Recommendation are raising AI awareness and literacy, together with human oversight and transparency. SITECH learning materials take these two principles as their axis: readers understand AI well enough to oversee it, not to delegate to it blindly.

OECD — AI Principles (2019, updated 2024). Five principles: inclusive growth and sustainable development; respect for the rule of law, human rights and democratic values; transparency and explainability; reliability, safety and security; accountability. The learning materials teach readers to demand and check for these qualities in any AI system they use.

EU AI Act — Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 4. The AI literacy obligation applies to all providers and deployers of AI systems (applicable from 2 February 2025). AI literacy is no longer optional — under this legal framework, it is an obligation. SITECH learning materials are designed to help organisations meet that obligation in substance, not in form.

ISO/IEC 42001:2023 — Artificial intelligence management systems. The standard requires organisations to identify the competence and awareness needed for roles working with AI. SITECH learning materials follow this requirement: each audience group learns the competence its role needs.

Safety

Safety and privacy by design

Learning materials that teach safe AI use must themselves be safe.

No data collected beyond the purpose; transparency about data storage, access, and rights to edit and delete data. The learning materials teach the principle "sensitive data must not be entered into public tools" — and the process of producing the materials follows that same principle. For deployments on a Local server, data does not leave the organisation's infrastructure; the AI control layer (AI Guardrails) and the AI gateway (AI Gateway) keep AI use within the agreed rules. How we work

From audience to usable learning materials

  • Step 1 — Identify the audience and target outcome: who reads, what they can do after reading, measured by which criteria.
  • Step 2 — Identify security requirements: which data may be used in examples, which data absolutely may not.
  • Step 3 — Write and design materials for the audience: plain language, real examples, real exercises.
  • Step 4 — Verify with real readers: give the draft to the right audience group to try, and fix anything unclear.
  • Step 5 — Deliver and update: AI changes fast; materials are reviewed and updated to reflect new practice.

Frequently asked questions

What readers often ask

Who are the learning materials for?

Leaders, office staff, teachers and students, technical teams — each group has its own content and depth, because each group uses AI for different work.

Print books or digital materials?

Both, as needed. Books and handbooks are used in training and self-study; digital materials are used for quick reference at work.

Can SITECH write learning materials specifically for our organisation?

Yes. Learning materials are designed to each organisation's audience, target outcome and security requirements — not one set shared by every organisation.

Do the materials teach how to use a specific AI tool?

The materials focus on principles and correct ways of working — understand, practise, verify — so readers can use them with many tools, not tied to a single tool.

AI changes fast — will the materials go out of date?

They can. That is why materials are reviewed and updated regularly. Verification and safety principles last longer than any single tool's features.
